## 25. Quarantine and rehabilitation — resurrection's second edge
Resurrection has a second edge: restore an unfixed bug and the problem
rides back in with it. So bugs are never deleted AND never blindly
restored. They are:
1. CONTAINED — system heals immediately; work resumes clean.
The bug is cut out of live operation whole.
2. QUARANTINED — preserved intact in an isolated region,
append-only like everything else. Not deleted:
deletion would destroy the evidence we need.
3. DISSECTED — the bug carries its own antidote inside itself:
its code shows the entry path, the exploited
weakness, the behavior signature. A root worm
knows the hole it crawled through.
4. REPAIRED — fix the ROOT the dissection revealed, not just
the symptom that got cut out. Patch the hole,
not the worm.
5. REMEMBERED — signature stored in immune memory; every future
variant matches instantly and gets caught at the
gate instead of inside.
Resurrection policy: bugs may be resurrected ONLY inside the study
lab (sandboxed, observed, harmless). Never into production. The
quarantine keeps the lesson alive while keeping the disease dead.
This is the immune system, formalized: contain, learn, remember,
repair the wall — and the organism comes out stronger than before
the infection, because now it knows something it didn't.
